Eternal Sanctuary
Eternal Sanctuary centres on a luminous tree enclosed within a fragile transparent sphere in the middle of a barren dreamscape. The protective enclosure is also a form of separation, turning the image into a meditation on the tension between safety and isolation. Celestial bodies drift above while a winding river cuts through golden sand, giving the landscape a sense of time continuing around the protected life at its centre. The painting reflects on resilience, the sacredness of living things and the instinct to preserve what is precious even when preservation changes its relationship to the surrounding world.
