The Game of Fate
The Game of Fate imagines a landscape governed by the roll of the dice. Pyramids rise from the sands while storm clouds gather above, and an enormous weathered die stands like a monument to luck and inevitability. A checkerboard path winds through the terrain toward an uncertain distance, giving the scene the structure of a game without revealing its rules. A lone cactus anchors the surreal setting with a small sign of endurance. By combining ancient forms, chance and a path whose destination remains hidden, the work reflects on the uneasy boundary between choice and forces that cannot be controlled.
