Torro
Torro builds its humour around a simple reversal of expectation. A bull, traditionally associated with force, aggression and physical presence, sits in 3D glasses clutching popcorn like a cinema spectator. Raw power has become passive observation. The contrast gives the work a playful surface, but it also opens a sharper reading of consumption and distraction: the figure capable of action is content to watch. By placing strength in the front row rather than at the centre of events, the painting turns a familiar symbol of power into a commentary on entertainment, passivity and contemporary spectatorship.
